Venice Armchair

The Venice Armchair is all soft curves: deep vertical channel stitching runs across the back, arms and seat front, each channel edged with fine contrast piping, and the rounded arms sit level with the low back for a relaxed, cloud-like shape. The textured, flecked fabric comes in Beige, Grey, Mocha and Olive, and a matching scatter cushion is included.

Where it works

At 100 cm wide and only 68 cm high, the Venice Armchair keeps a room feeling open, so it suits living rooms with lower windows, snugs and open-plan spaces where you want to see over the back. It matches the Venice 2 and 3 seater sofas if you want a full set. Beige and mocha feel warm with oak, brass and terracotta; grey suits blush or mustard accents; olive looks rich against white walls and natural wood. Before you order

Mark 100 x 100 cm on the floor with masking tape and leave around 80–90 cm for walkways. Measure doorways, hallways and stair turns on the delivery route. Our guide to choosing an armchair explains what to check before you buy.

Care

Vacuum the fabric regularly with a soft brush attachment, blot spills straight away rather than rubbing, and plump the scatter cushion often. The cushion cover unzips. Keep it out of strong direct sunlight to limit fading, and check the care label before using any cleaner.

Please measure doorways, stairs, hallways and your room before ordering. If the sofa won't fit, or no one is in to receive it, a redelivery charge of £170 applies.

The bed requires a full home assembly. This is relatively straightforward.
The bed frame is quite easy to assemble though I don't know if the side hangers go in front of, or behind, the washers of the fixing bolts, or even if it matters. A little bit fiddly , though probably easier with two people!
The drawers are slightly more difficult. The instruction sheet, and the packaging could be improved here. On the first drawer I made, I used two fronts , so when I came to the second drawer I had two backs, which didn't fit. I would like to see a letter sticker (A,B,C...) on the drawer parts and then the instruction sheet could refer to these to avoid confusion. A minor point, but a system used quite often on home assembly items.
