Description

Franklin Universal Corner Sofabed

The Franklin Universal Corner Sofabed gives you a generous corner sofa by day and a 200 x 120 cm bed for guests at night. The universal design means the chaise can be set up on the left or the right, so it adapts to your room. It is full of practical touches too: lift-up storage under the chaise, a storage compartment and cup holders built into the arm, and channel-stitched seat cushions. Available in Grey and Beige.

✔ Pull-out bed with a 200 x 120 cm sleeping area
✔ Lift-up storage under the chaise
✔ Storage compartment and cup holders in the arm
✔ Universal corner: set up left or right hand
✔ 250 x 154 cm corner layout
✔ Grey or beige upholstery

Where it works

At 250 cm along the main side and 154 cm along the chaise, the Franklin suits a living room, a family room or a spare room that doubles as a guest bedroom. Tuck it into a corner with the long side facing the TV, and keep the coffee table light enough to move aside when you pull out the bed. The storage under the chaise is handy for spare bedding, so everything for guests stays in one place. Grey works with mustard, teal or blush cushions; beige is a warm neutral that suits oak, cream and soft olive tones.

Before you order

Mark the L-shape (250 x 154 cm, 88 cm deep) on the floor with masking tape and leave around 80–90 cm for walkways. Allow clear floor in front for the 200 x 120 cm bed when it is open, and room above the chaise to lift the lid. It is 92 cm high. Measure doorways, hallways and stair turns on the delivery route. Our piece on sofa beds that are actually comfortable has more tips.

Care

Vacuum the fabric regularly with a soft brush attachment, blot spills straight away rather than rubbing, and plump the cushions often to keep their shape. Keep it out of strong direct sunlight to limit fading, and check the care label before using any cleaner.

The bed requires a full home assembly. This is relatively straightforward.
The bed frame is quite easy to assemble though I don't know if the side hangers go in front of, or behind, the washers of the fixing bolts, or even if it matters. A little bit fiddly , though probably easier with two people!
The drawers are slightly more difficult. The instruction sheet, and the packaging could be improved here. On the first drawer I made, I used two fronts , so when I came to the second drawer I had two backs, which didn't fit. I would like to see a letter sticker (A,B,C...) on the drawer parts and then the instruction sheet could refer to these to avoid confusion. A minor point, but a system used quite often on home assembly items.

Overall, an excellent service.
